Pest control maintenance plans: what to include and how to price them
A pest control plan is an ongoing agreement where you treat and inspect the property on a schedule, with re-service if pests come back between visits. Recurring service is already how a lot of pest work is sold, so the plan is mostly about packaging it clearly and keeping renewals on track.

How to price it
- 01Include product cost in your cost per visit, not just labour and drive time.
- 02Re-service calls cost you money. Estimate how often you'll go back and add that to the cost per visit.
- 03Price termite, bed bug and wildlife work separately; they don't fit a general plan.
Visits per year: A visit each season is a common setup. Change it to match your service interval.
Run your pest control numbers →Scheduling the visits
Spread members across the year so each technician's route stays full. Make sure the re-service promise doesn't overload busy months.
Common mistakes
- ✕"Guaranteed pest-free" wording you can't back up
- ✕Unlimited re-service with no conditions
- ✕Applying products in ways the label doesn't allow
Plan agreement checklist
Whatever the trade, put these in the customer's agreement. Have your own adviser review the wording.
- ☐Exactly what each visit includes, and how many visits a year
- ☐What isn't included (parts, repairs, materials) and how those are priced
- ☐The price, how it's billed (monthly or yearly) and what happens if a payment fails
- ☐The term, whether it renews automatically, and how the customer is reminded before it does
- ☐How to cancel, and what happens to visits already used or not yet used
- ☐Any member discount, written as a clear rule rather than "discounts on everything"
- ☐How you book visits, and what happens if the customer can't give access
Pest control plan questions
What licenses do plan visits need?+
Commercial pesticide application is regulated. Restricted-use pesticides can only be applied by a certified applicator or someone under their direct supervision, and many states require certification for all commercial applications. Check your state's rules.
Should I promise a guarantee?+
Promise what you control: the visits, the treatments and re-service under clear conditions. Avoid absolute promises like "pest-free".
Can I run a maintenance plan in Jobber today?+
You can set up recurring jobs and visits in Jobber for each member. Our free membership audit can also read a Jobber visits export to spot repeat clients. Check Jobber's own help centre for its current features.
What if my plan renews automatically?+
Tell customers clearly when they sign up, remind them before it renews, and make cancelling easy. Some US states have rules about automatic renewals, so check the rules where you work. This is general information, not legal advice.
How many customers will join?+
We don't publish a typical sign-up rate because we haven't found a source we trust. Start with your own numbers, such as how many customers rebook each year, and test a low, middle and high rate in the calculator.
