Free tool · Inflation since your last rise
How much have your costs risen since your last price rise?
Pick the month of your last price rise. The tool compares the US Consumer Price Index (CPI-U, Bureau of Labor Statistics) for that month with the latest month we hold, and shows what a price would be if it had just kept pace. Add your own cost lines to compare your real costs. Outside the US, type your country's official figure.

Common questions
Where does the US figure come from?+
BLS series CUUR0000SA0: CPI for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), U.S. city average, all items, not seasonally adjusted, index 1982–84 = 100. We copied the monthly values from the BLS public data API on 28 Oct 2026. Change = (CPI in the later month ÷ CPI in the earlier month) − 1.
Why is October 2025 missing?+
BLS did not publish an October 2025 figure because of the 2025 lapse in federal appropriations, so the tool doesn't offer that month. Pick September or November 2025 instead.
Is this my local inflation?+
No. CPI-U is a national US measure of consumer prices. It isn't specific to your city or your trade, which is why you can add your own costs (parts, fuel, wages, insurance) and compare.
I'm in the UK, Canada or Australia. What do I enter?+
Use the 'Other country' option and type the change from your national statistics office (for example ONS in the UK, Statistics Canada or the Australian Bureau of Statistics). We don't hold those figures, so we don't show any.
Does matching inflation mean I should raise by that much?+
Not necessarily. It shows what keeping pace would look like. Your own costs, your labor rate and what customers will accept matter more. Give customers fair notice; the notice checker covers that.
Is anything stored?+
No. Everything runs in your browser. If you unlock the full breakdown we store your email, the tool, the mode (US CPI or manual) and the currency.

Estimates only
US CPI-U is a national consumer-price measure, not your local or trade-specific costs. Figures for other countries are whatever you enter. Results are not financial advice or a recommended price.
