Wrenchpost

Free tool · Read-only audit

Which of your recurring prices are behind, and what would a rise add?

Paste your price list or recurring jobs, pick a target (the same % for everything, US inflation since each line's last change, or your own target prices) and where your customers are. You get the lines below target, an estimated yearly uplift and the notice dates for each region. It's read-only: nothing changes in your software and nothing is saved.

Your recurring prices

Only price is required. Also read if present: service/name, client, unit (visit, month or year), visits per year, last change (YYYY-MM or M/D/YYYY), target (your target price), region (state or province code like CA, NY, QC, BC; or UK, AU) and customers (how many are on that line). Copy columns from a spreadsheet or a job-software export and save as CSV first.

Your target

Every line not changed recently gets the same rise.

Common questions

Is my price list uploaded or stored?+

No. The audit runs in your browser. We don't receive what you paste or type, and nothing is saved when you close the page. There's no email gate on this tool.

What columns do I need?+

Only a price column. The audit also reads service or name, client, unit (visit, month or year), visits per year, last change date, target price, region (a state or province code such as CA, NY, QC or BC, or UK / AU) and number of customers if your file has them. Column names are matched loosely, e.g. 'Unit price' or 'Amount' work for price.

How is the uplift worked out?+

For each line below target: (target price − current price) × billable units a year × customers on that line. Units a year are 12 for monthly, 1 for yearly, and your visits-per-year figure for per-visit lines. It assumes every customer stays, so it's an estimate, not a forecast; the break-even figure shows how many could leave before the rise stops adding revenue.

Will it ever suggest lowering a price?+

No. Lines already at or above target are marked as such and left alone. You can also skip lines that changed recently (12 months by default).

Where do the notice dates come from?+

The same rules as our price increase notice checker, summarised from the state and provincial sources linked there. Where a rule sets no day count we use 30 days as a suggested default, not a legal minimum. General information, not legal advice. Wrenchpost is not a law firm and doesn't give legal advice. Rules change and depend on your contract and your customer's location, so check with a qualified lawyer before relying on it.

Does this change prices in my job software?+

No. It's read-only. Use the results to update prices yourself, or join the Tierstead early-access list for bulk edit with preview and undo.
